Origin of Cedar Hill's
Name
Cedar Fort was not incorporated as a municipality until 1965. The name Cedar
Fort was taken from Cedar Valley and the abundance of cedar trees in the area.

On January 5, 1956, the Utah Legislature incorporated the area around Cedar Fort
as Cedar Valley County with Cedar Fort as the county seat. The county was later
absorbed into Utah County.
